Recent changes in Federal laws have established the ability of healthcare organizations to submit their occurrence report data, cause analysis data, and peer review data to a Patient Safety Organization (PSO). These changes provide for stronger confidentiality and protections than some present state laws, as well as the ability of the PSO to share aggregated, de-identified information back to all of the members of the PSO.
